About Charlotte

Are you feeling overwhelmed by physical or mental health problems? Does your body or mind feel out of your control? Perhaps you’ve been diagnosed with a new condition or can’t get your head round an existing one? Are any of these issues impacting on your emotions or relationships with others? I can help. I value supporting people with finding their own path, standing out from the crowd, building connection and relationships. I am not a fixer and I don’t have all the answers, although I know that I am OK to sit with people in chaos. I strongly believe people can be empowered to find their own way, on their own terms.

My training is in evidence-based person centered and relational psychological therapy. I am able to help navigate and negotiate the challenges, uncertainty and losses that physical and mental health conditions can bring to relationships with yourself, your body and other people in your life. My doctoral training and work experience provides me with skills in psychodynamic, Cognitive behavioural therapy including new wave approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassion focused therapy (CFT), systemic and humanistic modes of therapy. I believe in working within these models with you in order to create an individual tool kit of coping strategies to help to improve your emotional and psychological wellbeing.

I work with individuals, couples, families and value supporting effective and positive communication with services involved in your care. I offer clinical supervision to trainee and qualified psychologists.

Thank you for booking your first session. I understand that planning to see a psychologist can feel daunting and you may not feel like you know where to start. I will always try my best to put you at ease and take our conversations at your pace. I look forward to meeting with you and getting started on our therapy journey.
