Cookie Policy
Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users. This helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse our website, and also allows us to improve it.
By law, we must ask for your permission before placing non-essential cookies (such as analytics cookies) on your device. When you first visit our website you will see a cookie banner. Non-essential cookies are not set until you choose "Accept all". If you choose "Reject non-essential", or ignore the banner, only strictly necessary cookies are used. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page.
What are cookies?
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user's device.
Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your user experience.
The cookies we use
The categories below are consistent with those supplied by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC UK Cookie Guide).
Category 1: strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around our website and use its features, such as submitting an enquiry or remembering your cookie choice. Without these cookies the services you have asked for cannot be provided. Your consent is not required for these cookies, and they are the only cookies we set before you make a choice. We use these types of cookies.
Category 2: performance and analytics cookies. These cookies collect information about how visitors use our website, for instance which pages are visited most often. This information is aggregated and used only to improve how the website works. We use Google Analytics 4 (see below) for this. These cookies are only set if you consent via our cookie banner, and until then Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode using Google Consent Mode.
Category 3: functionality cookies. These cookies allow a website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features. We do not currently use functionality cookies beyond remembering your cookie preference, which is a strictly necessary cookie (Category 1).
Category 4: targeting or advertising cookies. These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. We do not use these cookies on our website.
Third-party services we use
We use the following third-party services, which may set cookies once you have given consent:
Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to load and manage the analytics tag described below. Google Tag Manager does not itself set cookies that identify you.
Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website. When you consent, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (typically named "_ga" and "_ga_" followed by a container identifier) which last up to two years. These are used to distinguish visitors and to measure how the site is used. You can review how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Please note that third parties who provide services on our behalf may also use cookies, over which we have limited control. We do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes.
Managing or withdrawing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page, which reopens the cookie banner so you can update your choice. Withdrawing consent stops further non-essential cookies from being set.
You can also block or delete cookies using your browser settings. If you block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to use all parts of our website. For information on how to delete cookies, please refer to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
For more information on our position on the use of cookies, please contact us at Select Psychology, 1 Tynemouth Road, North Shields, NE30 4AY.
