Modern life is stressful, that’s no secret. As work hours are getting longer and we have less and less time to ourselves in the evenings and at weekends, it’s important to look after ourselves more than ever. This means looking after your well-being and mental health as much as your physical health.
As we have been practicing for a little while now, we thought now was a perfect time to give you an update on our progress as we continue our work to help people to get their lives back on track by using a private psychologist near Newcastle.
We’ve welcomed new members to the team…
In late 2016, we were delighted to welcome new additions to our workforce here at Select Psychology. These came in the form of Dr Tammy Lennox and Dr Susan Bruce who all come with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of clinical psychology.
Dr Lennox specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has over a decade’s worth of experience working with adults in NHS Secondary Care. Her areas of interest and expertise are wide as they are varied and include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, OCD and work related stress, among others.
Meanwhile, Dr Susan Bruce has a special interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adolescents and children who suffer from depression and anxiety disorders. She also specialises in the management and the assessment of psychological difficulties linked to health issues such as epilepsy and chronic pain.
We’re delighted to welcome both of these highly skilled professionals to our ranks who have been joined with other fellow specialists in recent months.
Armele Philpotts has also joined our team and is a Counsellor with extensive knowledge in the field of Relationship Counselling and Family Counselling. Dr Veronica Oliver Jenkins – our new supporting clinical psychologist and supervisor, completes our drive for new additions to our staff and has allowed us to extend our services into new areas of clinical psychology.
Select Psychology Has Extended Its Service Reach & Opening Hours
Thanks to the expansion of our team, Select Psychology has now extended its service now offering child psychology and child neuropsychology as well as relationship counselling and family counselling.
Our clinicians are now regularly meeting in regular peer supervision groups, which we launched with great success in January of this year in order to build on an individual’s supervision requirements.
Our opening hours have also changed and they have increased to include Monday late afternoon and evenings as well as Friday mornings.
