About Kerry
I am a clinical psychologist with 8 years of experience supporting children, adolescents and adults living with emotional and psychological distress. I have worked in a range of NHS roles including adult and child mental health services to support individuals and their families to address a range of mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, tics etc.
I have a specific interest in supporting adults and children with neurodevelopmental conditions, such as Autism or ADHD. I have experience of supporting individuals and their families to understand and manage traits that are impactful, and of treating co-occurring mental health conditions e.g. anxiety and depression.
I draw on a range of psychological theories and models to inform my work, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, and use of mindfulness techniques. Integrating elements of different therapies helps to create an intervention that is tailored to your specific needs. I also use therapeutic approaches and strategies that have been adapted for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.
It is natural to feel apprehensive about talking to a psychologist, but by providing a space in which to share your thoughts and experiences freely, we will develop a shared understanding of your life story, your reasons for seeking therapy at this time, and help you to overcome obstacles.
