About Georgia

I am a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with 16 years post qualification experience of working with children, adolescents and young adults in NHS mental health services across both community and hospital settings. For the past five years I have been working with children and young people in NHS Clinical Health Psychology, which I continue to do part time-time in addition to private work.

I have extensive experience of carrying out psychological assessment and therapy for a wide range of presentations, including anxiety disorders (health anxiety, social anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD), depression, stress, supporting adjustment to physical health difficulties and the interactive impact of mental and physical health.

I draw on a range of evidence-based psychological therapies to help create a shared understanding and individualised therapy for each client. The core models in my Doctorate training were cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic and psychodynamic therapy. Post qualification, I have completed further training in CBT, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I use an integrative approach to therapy and aim to use the most appropriate models and interventions to tailor therapy to clients’ needs, drawing upon CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and systemic therapy depending on a client’s difficulties and preferences.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for children and young people to explore the reasons for, and reduce their experience of, psychological distress.
