Helena was great and always accommodating with my schedule especially with my working patterns and hours to ensure consistency between sessions. The whole experience was positive and I have learnt so many skills to help control my feelings and thoughts. I found the ‘chair therapy’ exercise very useful as this enabled me to sit with my feelings from different parts of myself which I found difficult to face in the past. This helped me delve deeper into difficult parts which needed to be looked at. This was done with care and patience. Controlling the inner critic voice about myself and controlling the narrative whereby I used to think loved ones didn’t want the best for me. I found therapy very fulfilling. As a man who lost both his wife and daughter to cancer within twelve months of each other the grief that I experienced has been at times unbearable, and without the kindness and support of the therapists I doubt whether I would have made it through. As a man dealing with grief, it is especially hard. If I can advise any other fellow in my situation - don't give up! Talking to a female therapist helps as your men friends cant help you!

Firstly I would like to say Hannah was a great help and she’s really helped me in loads of aspects and given me a different look on a lot of situations. I would highly recommend her to anyone ex or currently in the military and to just anyone in general going through problems in their life. It’s hard to put in to words. I could never thank Hannah enough. She has literally changed my life and all for the better. All of the problems I was having I now have a really good insight into, and a really good insight into how I got to the place I was in. I strongly believe that the therapy has benefited my everyday life. I have had a dog phobia since childhood, which has prevented me from being around any dog. Since the therapy, I can now confidently visit my sister and friend's house (who have dogs) and not worry about being in the company of their dogs. In fact, I look forward to seeing the dogs. I can also walk down a street or an open area without extreme anxiety or being on the lookout for dogs. I would highly recommend my psychologist and the office has been very helpful and approachable.

I saw Ellen for the first time in January 2023 after a heartbreaking breakup. Monthly appointments with her kept me going through the initial half of the year, and I was able to manage on an appointment every two months after that. Ellen also referred me to a practitioner in a different field for further support. I'm now a lot better & have learned a lot about myself. I feel more able to navigate dating and life in general, with my issues. If I ever need to go through this process again, I'm hoping Ellen will be there.

I have recently completed a course of therapy at Select Psychology.  A prolonged period of insomnia following some major life changes was causing problems for myself and my family. I needed help but didn’t know where to turn. My daughter suggested Select Psychology. I was uncertain and hesitated, but am now so glad that I accepted my daughter’s advice.
The psychologist I saw (Caroline Murphy) was warm, kind, patient and reassuring and I felt immediately that I could trust her. She listened and I felt I heard. Gradually, making full use of her professional training, knowledge and experience, she helped me to many insights and self understanding.  This enabled me to make adjustments to my thinking and self perception, and consequently, to the way I approached each new day. I am now able to actively enjoy life again and look forward to each day.

I feel so much happier and lighter. I can now feel excited and optimistic about things. I laugh a lot more and I am really noticeably able to handle things that would previously have lead me to spiral, with a much more positive outlook. I feel so free compared to before being trapped in my head of negative thinking. Looking back I really hadn't realised how bad I'd let myself get, and it's only now I know there was no need for me to living that way. Alison helped me to understand my core beliefs, where they have come from and how they effect me and most importantly how I can shrink down the bad ones and know that I deserve more from myself. 1.  I feel I have more insight to who I am,  that I am normal just wired a bit differently, that it's ok to be me and feel as I do.  Clarke has allowed me to give myself freedom to enjoy life and take control over it. Through diagnosis of likely triggers for my behaviour I am more accepting and able to manage why and how I think in day to day life.  This is all positive.
2. I am more relaxed, not anxious and feel emotions that are not scary. My family have noticed the changes already.
3. Your services are amazing, I should have come for help sooner.  I feel safe in the knowledge that the door is always open. Clarke is a very approachable, friendly, calming professional who I would always recommend.  He is amazing at his role.
