DR CHLOE MARSHALL
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Hi, my name is Chloe, and I work as a Clinical Psychologist with 14 years experience of supporting people with their mental health.
I know that starting therapy can feel really daunting and my aim is to help you feel comfortable and safe. I do this through my compassionate, evidence-based and understanding approach. Central to my work is our therapeutic relationship and I offer a warm and non-judgmental space to help enable us to work together to understand your specific challenges and develop tailored strategies at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My aim is to always ensure that you come away from sessions feeling understood and validated.
I am passionate about supporting people during difficult times in their life and feel that therapy is a great way to do this in a contained and trauma informed way. I truly believe that we are all shaped through our experiences and that these experiences impact the way that we see ourselves and the world around us. My aim is to help you process what you have been through and tap into your unique strengths to develop specific strategies to aid recovery and healing. My key objective is that you come away from therapy feeling that you have a much better understanding of yourself and feel confident and empowered to navigate life’s complexities.
Throughout my career I have worked across the lifespan in child, adult and older adult services, along with specialist services such as bariatric services, learning disabilities, NHS staff wellbeing service, eating disorders and psychodynamic psychotherapy service. Most recently I have worked in an inpatient service for those experiencing crisis and a charity for veterans.
I draw upon comprehensive clinical training and ongoing professional development to provide nuanced, empathetic care that supports your wellbeing. During my doctorate I was trained in various models such as Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Systemic therapy. I also use Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness in my work. As a Clinical Psychologist, I use an integrative approach to collaboratively develop the most suitable treatment plan for you and our approach is continuously shaped through what you find helpful.
I understand the courage it takes to come to therapy and show another person your vulnerability. Taking this step can often feel like a big decision that you have weighed up over a long time. I look forward to meeting you if you decide that now is the right time to take this step.
