What is emotion focused therapy (EFT)? 

Emotion focused therapy or EFT is guided by the principle that emotions are key to our identity and if we lack awareness of/avoid unwanted emotions we are unable to use the important information that they provide. EFT therefore works with you to have a greater awareness of your emotions and accepting these. From there you can identify changes that you can make to influence thinking and guide future action and avoid negative behaviour.
