Remote CBT therapy therapy

During this current situation with COVID-19 we are conducting all therapy remotely, via telephone or video link.

Cognitive behavioural therapy or “CBT” is a type of stress management and is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. It can make sense of overwhelming problems in a positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. It helps to identify cycles that can trap you into maladaptive behaviours. Identifying and then understanding how to change these negative patterns can improve the way you feel.

Unlike some other talking therapies CBT deals with the here and now and looks at practical ways to improve you mental health.

What are the benefits?

By becoming aware of patterns of thinking and behaving and identifying alternatives, distress and anxiety levels can be reduced and mood levels enhanced. The skills learnt in CBT can be applied to your daily life and the benefits should be maintained. Skills you have learnt can be applied to many other situations outside of therapy and lead to lifelong change.
